   "Take Me with U" was the final U.S. single released from Prince and The Revolution's smash album, Purple Rain, released on 25 January It is a pop song notable for the drum solo and finger cymbals that open the song and repeat again toward the end.

   The song is sung as a duet with Apollonia Kotero, and was originally intended for the Apollonia 6 album, but was pulled for the Purple Rain soundtrack. A result of this addition, Prince made cuts to the suite-like original "Computer Blue", which circulates among collectors in an extended version (a portion of this second section of "Computer Blue" can be heard in the film Purple Rain as Prince B-side: "Baby I'm a Star".

   Prince continues dipping into his bag of past glories with a rousing rendition of “Take Me With U” that has both the stadium and the recording bouncing. The video seems rather limited on available shots at this point, and for the first part of the song we alternate between only 3 camera angles.

   Their first album together, Diamond and Pearls, was released on 1st October , eventually going double Platinum in the United States. At the beginning of the same year, Prince and his band were invited to play two dates as part of Rock In Rio 2, the second edition of the Brazilian-based music festival, the largest in the world.

   Clocking in at nearly long, this "original version" of "America" was the version Prince and bandmates wanted to include on "Around The World In A Day," but agreed to instead use a less lengthy, edited version for the LP at Warner Brothers' request.
